A light aircraft crashed near the Kraaifontein sewage plant on Tuesday morning.
Titanium Securitas, an armed response and emergency service provider to Brackenfell, Kraaifontein and surrounding areas, received emergency calls regarding the incident just after 11:00.
“The Titanium Securitas medical team and all the relevant role players immediately responded to the calls and rushed to the given location,” reads a statement from the company in question.
Upon arrival, two injured pilots were found outside the aircraft.
“One of the pilots sustained serious injuries and had to be flown by Air Mercy Service (AMS) to a level one trauma center.”
The other pilot had only moderate injuries and was transported by vehicle to the appropriate facility.
Both patients were first stabilized at the scene by paramedics before being transported for further medical treatment.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is aware of the accident, but is still waiting to receive a report on it before further information about it will be made public.
