Pietie Beyers, Luan Lauw and Grant Towers what tans in Blitz-BulletinAfriForumTV’s brand new comedy series, is to be seen, says that this series will really make viewers skate.
“I hope viewers will laugh as much as we laughed on set during the recordings. It’s really the first time that we had to stop shooting because the whole team just can’t stop laughing at the situation,” says Pietie with a laugh.
Grant, who can be seen in the role of the pale soul Rudolf Nel, believes that the variety of humor will appeal to a wide audience. “There is something for all viewers in this series.”
Blitz-Bulletin is an ensemble comedy series about the behind-the-scenes life of a well-known Afrikaans news program.
During the filming of this series, Rhewal visited the set and talked to some of the actors about their characters and the story.
Pietie says he likes the fact that his character, Sebastian Smit, is not afraid to be himself, while Luan thinks that it is wonderful to play the role of Luan Lauwrens, because they are opposites of each other.
The rest of the cast consists of Riaan Cruywagen (as himself), Bouwer Bosch (as JP van Greenen), Augusta Zietsman (as Andrei Ehlers), Elma Postma (as Lorraine Blignaut), André Lötter (as Thys Theunissen) and Jonathan Pienaar ( as Van Wyk van Wyk).
Blitz-Bulletin was written by Claudia van Zyl, the concept was developed by Pierre Malan and it was produced by Laurika de Kock. The series was filmed in various locations in Pretoria, including the AfriForumTV studio, Ivory Manor, Moonshot Café and Pretoria Boys High School.
The first three episodes of Blitz-Bulletin is already up AfriForumTVa free online streaming platform, available after which the next five episodes of this series will be launched weekly.
