The biokineticist from Gqeberha, who was kidnapped a week ago in front of her workplace, is safe at home.
Capt. Yolisa Mgolodela, spokeswoman for the Hawks, confirmed that Riana Pretorius (30) was found “safe and sound”.
“Unfortunately, the investigating officer in the case has not yet passed on any further information, therefore the details regarding the how, where and when cannot yet be confirmed,” she says.
“Further details will be released later, but for now we are delighted that she is home safely.”
Pretorius was allegedly killed by men last week grabbed and forced into a vehicle outside the Newton medical centre.
Other news outlets reported that a ransom had been demanded for Pretorius, but Mgolodela could not confirm this to Rhewal, apparently because the investigative team feared for Pretorius’ life.
Two men who may be connected to her abduction are soon after her abduction arrest.
One of these suspects is expected to appear again today (Friday). hof appeared to apply for bail, but the other suspect is understood to have still not appeared in court.
Social media users who had been praying for Pretorius’ safety for the past week were relieved early Friday to hear that their prayers had been answered.
“Riana Pretorius has been found and is doing absolutely nothing,” writes John Duckworth Kingskid on Facebook.
“Many thanks to everyone who prayed together for her. Our God is a God of miracles.”
