USA donates to Kosovo prisons, electronic boards, security cameras, databases and monitors are donated
The Kosovo Correctional Service has received the next donation from the Embassy of the United States of America, namely from the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
In the announcement sent to the media, it is announced that the donation includes electronic boards, security cameras, databases and various monitors, through which correctional officers from the Operational Center of the Kosovo Correctional Service will monitor all correctional and detention centers.
“The acceptance-handover of the donation was signed by the Deputy Director General of the Kosovo Correctional Service, Sami Gashi, and the Director of the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Kosovo, Shawn Waddoups.
The donation will affect the increase in the level of security inside and outside correctional institutions, it aims to fight and prevent negative phenomena, as well as improving the daily working conditions of correctional officers.
The Embassy of the United States of America with its donations through INL & ICITAP has supported and is continuing to support the development of the KSK in the construction of an advanced, independent, safe and self-sustainable system”, the announcement continues.
