These were Blinken’s first words before Osman and Kurt
The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, hosted the heads of Kosovo’s institutions, President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti in a meeting in Washington DC
In his introductory speech, Blinken thanked the leaders of Kosovo for the accommodation of the Afghans and the support given to Ukraine. He thanked Kosovo for the cooperation with the USA and praised the signing of the energy agreement.
“We are working together to define some issues that are important to the US and your country. Thank you once again for hosting the Afghans, we have seen support from day one for Ukraine. I appreciate your cooperation and the energy contract will be signed tomorrow. We cooperated on all these issues and contributed to regional security. I thank you for this visit”, he said according to the official translation of the public television of Kosovo.
Blinken went on to say that it is an honor to welcome the two leaders of Kosovo and added that critical issues of regional security will be discussed.
“We are working together on many common issues for the benefit of the USA and Kosovo. Thank you once again for hosting the Afghans and supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression. I appreciate the work at the Summit for Democracy and your leadership, Madam President. Tomorrow you will sign a contract with MCC to contribute to energy security. We will also discuss all these issues and critical issues of regional security that we will talk about further. But it is a pleasure and an honor to welcome you both to the State Department”, he concluded.
