The Institute of Contemporary Art ARKIV opens in Peja
The newest art institution in Kosovo, that of contemporary art ARKIV, has opened in the city of Peja.
The “Vaso Pashë Shkodrani” SHFMU facility in Pejë will now have another function.
This space has been transformed into the newest art institution in Kosovo, the Institute of Contemporary Art ARKIV.
The opening was with Artan Hajrullah’s exhibition “Silence Took a Hold of the Rooms”.
Minister Çeku visited ARKIV together with the mayor of Peja Municipality, Gazmend Muhaxheri, where they were welcomed by the artist Sislej Xhafa, also the founder of this institution.
ARKIV, Institute of Contemporary Art is the first public institution dedicated to contemporary art in the region of Peja. Bringing together local and international artists across disciplines, it will be a hub designed for advanced research, critical thinking, experimentation and dialogue.
