Gashi quotes Demaç: I was looking to work opening channels, this was the only person who greeted me
Analyst Shkëlzen Gashi said in the Pressing show on T7 that Adem Demaçi was not a dissident in the full sense of the word, as he failed to inspire people from prison.
He says that Demaç had been in prison for many years, while people continued their lives normally without being affected by his activity. He says that when Demaç was released from prison for the second time, he was looking for physical work, but that he had not been able to find. He even goes so far as to say that people did not speak to him.
“The first Albanian novel in Kosovo was by this one, not by Sinan Hasan. Someone else wrote it. These were not dissidents. This is misunderstood. Dissidents inspire people from prison. But these have only inspired a small group. Demac tells himself how when he got out of prison for the second time, he was looking for a job opening canals, he did physical work, but they didn’t accept me. People ran away from me on the street. The only person who greeted me was Esad Mekuli”, says Gashi.
“So he was not a dissident in the sense of the word, as he did not inspire people from prison. This only happened in the 80s,” he concluded. /Express newspaper/
