Barcelona puts five footballers up for sale
Barcelona have informed six first team players that they have no future in Catalonia.
With 13 points adrift of Real Madrid in the title race, manager Xavi believes a clean slate is the only way to catch their rivals in El Clasico and is therefore planning a mass exodus in the summer transfer window.
According to reports in Spain from SPORT, Riqui Puig, Neto, Oscar Mingueza, Clement Lenglet, Samuel Umtiti and Moussa Wague have all been told they have no future at the club, with the Spaniard keen to reshape the starting line-up with his signings.
Sport reports that Xavi is in the market for five new signings ahead of the 2022/23 season, but will have to fund arrivals with player sales due to Barcelona’s worrying financial situation.
Leeds United ace Raphinha and Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski top the Spaniard’s list.
