Lajçak: Three or four agreements are ready, I expect them to be finalized soon
The special envoy of the European Union for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak, has said that there are three or four agreements to be signed between Kosovo and Serbia. He said that he expects them to be finalized soon.
According to Serbia’s N1 medium, at the 15th Forum in Dubrovnik, he praised both sides for the monthly meetings at the level of the main negotiators and added that there is also an agreement for the meetings to take place at the highest level.
Lajçak also assessed that the dialogue process between Belgrade and Pristina is the most strategic process in the region.
According to him, two urgent issues are the beginning of negotiations for the admission of Albania and North Macedonia to the European Union, as well as the visa-free regime for Kosovo. He said that the time has come for the European Union to restore the credibility of the enlargement and for the partners to seriously do their work on reforms.
Lajcak said that the EU should finish the unfinished business when it comes to the integration of the Western Balkans. In a tweet from the Dubrovnik Forum, Lajcak said the war in Ukraine changed everything and turned EU enlargement into a political issue.
“We were complacent for a long time. This can’t go on any longer. We must complete our unfinished business when it comes to the integration of the Western Balkans”, he wrote.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, is also participating in this Forum.
