The mufti of the Islamic Community of Kosovo (BIK), Naim Tërnava, has requested the recognition of Kosovo by Greece.
He made this request during the meeting he had with Heleni Vakali, head of the liaison office of Athens in Kosovo.
“Mufti Tërnava introduced the guest to the history, work and activities of the institution of the Islamic Community of Kosovo”, says the BIK announcement. “He said that BIK has continuously played a key role in the progress of tolerance and inter-religious harmony in the country. Mufti Tërnava asked Ambassador Vakali for a more permanent commitment for the recognition of Kosovo’s independence from the state of Greece as soon as possible”.
According to the announcement of the BIK, “Vakali thanked Mufti Tërnava for the reception and for his and the Islamic Community of Kosovo’s commitment so that a spirit of peace and harmony reigns in Kosovo between the citizens of the country regardless of religion or nationality.”
“Since we are on the eve of the Kurban-Bajram holiday, Ambassador Vakali congratulated Mufti Tërnava and all Muslim believers on this holiday”, the announcement ends. /Express
