This is the announcement of the Prime Minister:
Prime Minister Kurti’s speech at the 86th meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo
Pristina, July 4, 2022
Dear members of the government cabinet,
Dear Deputy Prime Ministers Besnik Bislimi, Donika Gërvalla and Emilia Rexhepi,
Minister and Deputy Minister,
Welcome to the 86th meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
We wish you and our expats a special welcome to Kosovo. Many of our compatriots have already arrived and many of them have even started their journey to their homeland. We wish you a warm welcome. We want their journeys to be as easy and safe as possible.
And to facilitate this, this year too, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo will cover the cost of the border police for our compatriots. The procedure continues to be simple and does not take much time. The policy can also be purchased physically at the entry border points, to avoid waiting at the border it can also be purchased online before departure.
After our compatriots have purchased the policy, they can apply for reimbursement of the payment in the online form of the Ministry of Finance.
I emphasize again that you, our emigrants, are an integral and powerful part of our plan for sustainable development of the Republic of Kosovo.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora is working on the strategy and the law on diaspora.
Throughout the year, the Government cabinet has developed the “Dialogue with the Migrant” and such a process will continue until the end of the year.
Programs for engaging the economic, scientific and professional potential of emigrants are being piloted for the first time within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Work is being done for the first time to implement the concept document for learning the Albanian language in exile and language certification.
Work is being done to link migration policies with the local level. For this, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Association of Municipalities for the Diaspora.
We are piloting cultural alternatives for the Albanian and non-Albanian community abroad, in order to have a connection with the community through art and culture.
In the framework of the internal reform, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has created new mechanisms to address the demands and problems of expatriates in relation to the services offered by diplomatic missions.
Your sacrifice, contribution and effort are to always stay as close as possible to family members in Kosovo, and this is to be admired by all of us. I wish all of you and each of you a pleasant holiday with your family and friends.
