Kurti: 32 years ago popular legitimacy triumphed over the oppressive legality of Serbia
On the 32nd anniversary of the announcement of the Constitutional Declaration, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that 32 years ago, the popular legitimacy of the citizen’s will triumphed over the oppressive legality of Serbia.
Kuri, through an article on the Facebook social network, said that on July 2, 1990, through the Constitutional Declaration, the First Republic of Kosovo was announced.
“During the repression of the Serbian government, the delegates gathered outside the doors of the Assembly, as they were not allowed to enter. 32 years ago, the popular legitimacy of the citizen’s will triumphed over the oppressive legality of Serbia”, wrote Kurti.
“The Constitutional Declaration was signed by 114 delegates from the Albanian majority and the Bosnian and Turkish minorities. This declaration was an act of political self-determination and a clear articulation of the vision and political will of the citizens and institutions of Kosovo for freedom, democracy and independence. For this will to become a reality, many sacrifices and sacrifices were made, a lot of work and commitment”.
“With pride and respect we remember the signatory delegates, those who are among us and those in eternity. Unforgettable is the memory of them and their work”, he wrote.
