The most famous thefts in the houses of public figures of Kosovo
The latest case of reporting a theft of 50 thousand euros in the house of MP Mirsad Shkreta, has caused a great commotion. Kallxo.com has listed some of the cases where politicians and public figures have been targeted by thieves.
The reason why Shkreta’s news received a lot of attention was the fact that the latter had not declared that money in the declaration of assets to the Anti-Corruption Agency.
Attempted theft in Hashim Thaçi’s house
An attempted robbery took place in 2008 at the home of Hashim Thaçi by a person with the initials FS

FS was initially suspected of aggravated attempted murder.

Theft of Aleksandër Lumezi’s house
The house of the now former Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, was also targeted by thieves in 2016. The thieves, who had been equipped with masks and firearms, had taken a ‘Samsung’ mobile phone in Lumezi’s house. at the moment they heard the family members inside the house had managed to leave. According to the indictment for this case on November 22, 2016, around 03:25, in the neighborhood “Veternik” in Prishtina, equipped with masks and firearms, in order to misappropriation of foreign, movable items and to bring themselves illegal property gain, by forcibly penetrating the house of the injured party Aleksandër Lumezi-Chief State Prosecutor, where they received a mobile phone of the brand “Samsung” unused and at the moment they heard the family members moving they quickly left the house.
The deputy’s weapon is stolen from the Municipal Assembly
Andin Hoti, MP in 2018, had his weapon stolen from his car.
According to the Police, Hoti’s weapon had been in a bag and with official permission while a case was initiated as aggravated theft.
Five thousand euros, gold jewelery, a weapon with a permit were stolen in the house of the deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Mërgim Lushtaku, in May 2021. The case was initiated by the Kosovo Police as ‘aggravated theft’. An Assembly vehicle The municipality of Peja, which was also used by the mayor of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, was stolen in March last year.
The car was found parked in the village of Drelaj while there was no person in it. For this case a person was arrested.

The theft scandal in the evidence room of the Kosovo Police
On the night between April 24 and 25, 2009, a scandal that took place at the “headquarters” of the Police was made public. The target of a theft was the evidence room, which should be the safest place in Kosovo.47 kilograms of heroin were stolen in the evidence room inside the Kosovo Police building.
Along with 47 kilograms of heroin, a considerable amount of money in various currencies was stolen, as well as some investigation documents.
Thirteen people were investigated in the case but no one has been convicted.
Another theft took place in the evidence room at the police station in Peja. Between February and April 2012, 25 kilograms of gold were stolen.
At the time the matter had received attention after the gold was extracted from the station outside the walls of the building by a police officer.
At the same time four police officers were arrested as suspects in connection with the case.
